Minter Ellison Canberra – Featuring Florence Marble Antique

STS Stone supplied natural stone for the Minter Ellison office in Canberra, a refined two-level fit out inside the CQ2 building at Civic Quarter. Designed by Bates Smart, they aimed to create a professional and timeless workspace that supports both collaboration and flexible working.

From early discussions, the design team at Bates Smart identified Florence Marble Antique as a key material. They chose it for the reception desk and adjoining wall. Its soft grey veining offered the right balance of elegance and restraint. The tone and texture also complemented the broader palette of neutral colours and natural finishes.

To ensure consistency, STS Stone worked closely with Bates Smart during the selection phase. We helped identify slabs that aligned with the project’s visual goals. This hands-on approach allowed the stone to integrate seamlessly with surrounding materials.

During fabrication and installation, clear coordination between all teams helped maintain design intent. The result is a clean and cohesive entrance that creates a strong first impression without overpowering the space.

Moreover, Florence Marble Antique offers lasting durability, an essential feature for high-traffic commercial areas. Its timeless look and reliable performance make it a strong choice for premium interiors.

This project shows how natural stone can elevate a workplace when thoughtfully specified and carefully executed. Through close collaboration and attention to detail, we helped bring a refined architectural vision to life.
