The Pavilion House in Avalon Beach, recently featured on The Local Project, is a stunning example of natural stone craftsmanship. Central to its design is the use of Travertine Grigio Chiaro Bush Hammered, a high-quality stone that enhances the home’s coastal elegance.

Firstly, this travertine is chosen for its soft grey tones and consistent texture, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications. The stone is extensively used around the pool area with a bush-hammered and brushed finish. This finish not only adds texture but also ensures slip resistance, which is ideal for wet outdoor environments.

Moreover, the travertine flooring flows seamlessly from the inside of the house to the outdoor living spaces. This creates a smooth transition that visually connects the home with the surrounding natural landscape. Such continuity reinforces the Pavilion House’s minimalist and tranquil aesthetic.

In addition to travertine, the project includes other natural stone finishes that complement the overall design. These subtle variations add depth and interest without detracting from the serene atmosphere the home embodies.

Furthermore, Travertine Grigio Chiaro is not only beautiful but also durable. Its ability to age gracefully in coastal conditions makes it a practical choice for luxury homes like Pavilion House.

In summary, the thoughtful use of natural stone at Pavilion House elevates the design. The Travertine Grigio Chiaro, with its textured finish and timeless appeal, plays a key role in this beautiful coastal retreat.

Stone used

A bush-hammered & brushed effect is obtained by pounding the material surface mechanically or by hand with a specific multi-pointed tool. End result is a rugged surface full of little grazes at the impact points and a lighter colour.
